Jarod has been freelancing as a choreographer and teacher for the past few years. He has created solos, duets, trios, and group numbers in varying styles for competition studios nationwide. His work has been selected for choreography, entertainment, inspiration, and high point overall awards. While working for Heat Convention and Competition as a Pro, he worked as assistant choreographer to Kavita Rao on the 2021-2022 Heat Force Nationals piece, a Bollywood production number. For the 2022-2023 season, Jarod was commissioned to choreograph and perform in the Heat Pro piece. In Amarillo, Texas, Jarod was commissioned to create an evening-length work for the debut concert of Emergence Dance Company in 2023. In 2024, Jarod made his theatrical choreography debut serving as associate choreographer for Jimmy Buffett’s Escape to Margaritaville at Las Positas College in Livermore, CA. Later that year, Jarod was asked to choreograph Dance Nation, a play by Clare Barron, for Pace University’s B.F.A acting program. The following semester, Jarod was asked to co-choreograph for the B.F.A. Acting program’s production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Picnic by William Inge.
